What type of swimming lessons do we offer?
At Emily’s Swim School, we offer private, semi-private and group lessons.  You can find our swimming lesson rates here and more information on our different programs here.  The majority of our students choose private lessons or semi-private lessons with their sibling.

What are the qualifications of our instructors?
Our instructors are fully certified (see here for more details) and have previously taught at the Town of Aurora and Newmarket.

How do I find out availability or book lessons for my child?
The easiest way to determine availability or book lessons for your child is to complete our contact form here.  We will respond to you promptly.

Is there a waiting list?
Our sessions are sometimes completely booked.  We do maintain a waiting list, which you can ask to be added to by completing our contact form here.

Do you teach adults?
Yes, we do teach adult students and tailor the session to individual needs.

What are your payment terms?
Full payment for our swimming lessons is due on booking, by etransfer.

Do you teach on statutory holidays?
No, Emily’s Swim School is closed on the statutory holidays of July 1st and August 1st.

How warm is your pool?
We maintain the temperature on our pool between 85 and 90 degrees F.

Can parents stay during their child’s swimming lesson?
Yes, parents are welcome to stay during their child’s swimming lesson.  We have a sitting table under an umbrella with magazines.

Can I have two of my children take lessons during the same time slot?
Yes, this is quite common for parents who choose semi-private lessons for their children.  Logistically, it is best to book early if this is you are interested in semi-private lessons.

What happens if there is inclement weather?
Swimming lessons will be held rain or shine, but will not be held in the event of thunder or lightening.  The second Friday of the session is a make-up day.

Do you have a bathroom?
Students should please plan to go to the bathroom at home prior to their swimming lessons.  We do have a bathroom available for urgent situations.

Do we offer lifeguarding services?
Yes, we do provide lifeguarding for pool parties and details can be found here.

What is the cancellation policy?
We have a no cancellation policy.  In the event that there are extenuating circumstances, please contact us to discuss.
